The usage of modern information technologies will be succesful only if information system development is aligned with business system development strategy. This way we can maximise support to business processes. Such approach is usually regarded as strategic planning of information systems (SPIS). We have several methods, techiques and templates that should be inventively integrated to develop optimal approach ti IS development for each particular business system. This paper presents how this integration could be perforemed to obtain consistent methodology. Such methodology has been applied to six large-scale projects in very different business systems. This way theoretical approach was confirmed and extended by new experiences presented in this article.
