An Approach To Modernisation of Boiler Feed Pump Drives for Thermal Power Plant

By modernisation of boiler feed pump drives for a thermal power plant it is possible to save electrical energy, to increase reliability and power plant availability, decrease maintenance costs and improve environment protection. Energy may be saved if flows regulation, i.e. quantity of feed water is achieved by feed pump speed control by changing voltage and frequency of induction motor drives. The most significant phases and project activities have been presented based on data and power plant analysis of pumps in a specific thermal power plant.
