Abstract

The objective of this study was to synthesize novel large pore microporous Cu-H-MCM-22 and mesoporous Cu- H-MCM-36 zeolite catalysts and test their catalytic properties in the CWPO of aqueous solutions of the model pollutant tyrosol [1]. Polyphenols such as tyrosol and phenolic acids, phytotoxic and biorefractory compounds are commonly found in the waste effluents from olive oil production industry (OOMW). Catalytic wet peroxide oxidation process (CWPO) is one of the methods that can be used for reducing the toxicity of OOMW under mild conditions and with low en
