Abstract
- In The Borderline Culture: Intensity, Jouissance, and Death, I argue that the psychological descriptor, “borderline, ” should be extended to encompass the main facets of contemporary Western culture: splitting, affective dysregulation, intensity, and the polarization of good and bad objects.
