Abstract
- Corrosion behaviour of CuAlNi alloy in 0.9 % NaCl solution (pH = 7.4) were studied at electrolyte temperatures of 25 °C, 37 °C and 50 °C in stagnant solution, by means of open circuit potential measurements (EOC), linear polarization measurements and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. Increasing in electrolyte temperature leads to the stabilization of the open circuit potential of CuAlNi alloy at more negative values and also leads to decrease in values of polarization resistance and increase in values of corrosion current density. Optical microscopy analysis of the CuAlNi surface, after potentiodynamic polarization measurements, indicates the occurrence of pitting corrosion on the alloy surface.
