Abstract

A methodology was developed for the direct substitution of allylic alcohols and acetates by alcohol nucleophiles in order to synthesize allylic ethers. The reaction was mediated by highly concentrated ethereal solutions of lithium perchlorate and proceeded with high regiospecificity. Additionally, the methodology was extended to enable allyl ether exchanges to occur.
