Abstract
- Power-split HEVs can improve their overall fuel economy by applying an appropriate energy management strategy. One of the most popular energy management strategies is model predictive control (MPC) which has attracted a great deal of attention in the HEV research community. In this paper, we focus on the energy management of HEVs and propose a novel energy management system using a new robust predictive control based on almost strictly positive real properties. We also verify that the proposed method can improve fuel efficiency compared with the existing rule-based control through numerical simulations.
