New guidelines reduce the risk of hospitalization for adult patients with uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparummalaria: An observational, multicenter, retrospective French study

•In this study, we observed increased ambulatory care in uncomplicated malaria cases since the application of the new guidelines.•Chemoprophylaxis was infrequent.•With the introduction of artemisinin derivatives, the risk of hospitalization was gradually reduced.
