Abstract

•The streck ARM-DⓇKit, β-Lactamase assay was able to accurately identify 164 β-lactamase genes in 113 well-characterized bacterial isolates from the CDC & FDA antibiotic resistance isolate bank.•The evaluation included Acinetobacter baumanniicomplex, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and 15 species of Enterobacterales.Isolates in the panel carried 49 different β-lactamase variants, representing the AmpC, ESBL, and carbapenemase genes most frequently detected in the United States.•The streck ARM-DⓇKit, β-Lactamase assay demonstrated >99% sensitivity and specificity compared with whole genome sequencing results for detection of β-lactamase gene variants.
