Abstract

•Cu-based metallic catalysts are synthesized for electrochemical CO2reduction to syngas.•The alloying effect on electrochemical CO2reduction performance is investigated.•Cu-Zn and Cu-Cd bimetallic catalysts enable CO2reduction to tunable syngas compositions.•Cu-Zn and Cu-Cd bimetallic catalysts maintain stable catalytic activity over 450 min.
