Abstract

Active surveillance is a safe management option for the management of low- and intermediate-risk prostate cancer over the full duration of >20 yr in this large multicentre cohort of over 26 000 men. Overall survival and metastases-free survival are 84.1% and 99.4%, respectively, at 10 yr. The probability of treatment at 10 yr was 20% in men with initial low-risk tumours and 31% in those with intermediate-risk tumours.
