Nonlinear response of conical flame to dual-frequency excitation

•Nonlinear responses are generated when the conical flame is perturbed by the dual-frequency excitation.•The nonlinear heat release rate fluctuation is aligned with the flame front fluctuation for both excitation frequency and interaction frequency.•The third-order expansion of G-equation can reveal the nonlinear response characteristics.
