Abstract

The fingertip is a complex anatomical structure that is frequently injured, especially in manual workers. Different classifications have been reported, considering injury orientation, level and geometry. To optimize treatment planning, the area of soft-tissue defect should be considered. Treatment aims to conserve as long a finger as possible, restore sensation (S3 + or more) and ensure a pleasant esthetic appearance.
