Abstract

A simple and quick analytical method for mercury in environmental water was developed by combining enclosed quartz cell cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (EQC-CV-AAS) and alkaline reduction pretreatment. The advantages of this method include reduction in the mercury measurement time from 3 h to 5 min and the possibility of on-site mercury monitoring for environmental water matrix such as river and sea water.A quick analytical method for mercury was developed by combining the enclosed quartz cell cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry and alkaline reduction pretreatment.
