Abstract
- The significance of fabric sensors has been growing simultaneously with the impact of wearable sensing applications. Different types of fabrics have been employed to develop thin-film sensors for multiple applications. This article highlights the fabrication and implementation of polyester fabric/graphene-based sensors for strain and acoustic applications. Conductive composite structures were formed by dip-coating polyester fabric into aqueous graphene dispersions with defined cycles. These sensors were piezoresistive in nature, characterized and utilized to sense strain-induced tactile motion. Due to their vibrational nature, they were also deployed to detect acoustic signals, thus validating their potential for multifunctional strain-sensing applications. These results serve as a podium to develop flexible graphene/fabric-based sensors for multifunctional strain-induced applications.
