Preparation and Characterization of a µ-P2O7-µ-HPO4Dinuclear Fe2(III, III) Complex

Abstract
- The [{Fe(Me3tacn)}2(µ-P2O7)(µ-HPO4)]·12H2O dinuclear Fe2(III, III) complex was prepared. The HPO42-bridge in the complex arises from hydrolysis of the pyrophosphate bound to the Fe(III) centers in the trinuclear [{Fe(Me3tacn)}3(P2O7)2]+intermediate. Electrochemical reduction of this complex at pH <3.2 results in dissociation of the H2PO4-bridge.The [{Fe(Me3tacn)}2(µ-P2O7)(µ-HPO4)]·12H2O dinuclear Fe2(III, III) complex was prepared.
