Association between Hepatitis B virus and gastric cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

•The prevalence of HBV infection andGC in China are both very high.•The association between HBV infection and the risk of GC cannot be determined yet due to the lack of more valid evidence.•Recently published studies on the association between HBV and GC were included in this study to better assess the association between the two.•Our results will provide more reliable evidence and reference for future GC prevention and treatment.
