Abstract
- An advantage of polymer electrolyte membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) over other water electrolysis technologies is its ability to operate at high current densities. However, resistive heating during . In this study, the internal cell temperature distribution at high current densities up to 12 A cm-2is evaluated through numerical simulation. The correlation between the temperature gradient in the cell and the flow rate of water supplied is examined. An increase in water supply is effective in minimizing high temperature gradients at higher current densities.
