Abstract

A new fluorescent reaction of DNA with chloroacetic acid in the presence of triethylamine is proposed, and the reaction conditions have been optimized. Based on this fluorescent reaction, a sensitive fluorometric method is described for the determination of DNA and the selective determination of cytosine and dCMP. The detection limits for DNA, cytosine and dCMP were 6.0, 0.4 and 1.4 ng/ml, respectively.
