Abstract
- Luminescence spectra and scintillation decays under steady-state and pulsed X-ray excitations, respectively, are presented for undoped and Ce-doped Lu<INF>3</INF>Al<INF>5</INF>O<INF>12</INF> single crystals at room temperature. The energy transfer from the trapped exciton state towards the Ce3+ centers appears rather inefficient. A negative influence of the shallow trapping states is evidenced, which results in delayed radiative recombination at the Ce3+ centers and slows down the scintillation response of the material.
