Abstract

In this study, we reported an improved approach for the synthesis of d/lAgrimonolide from 4‐Chlororesorcinol. It was found that a microwave assisted intramolecular esterification is an effective way to construct the 3,4‐dihydroisocoumarin core structure. The target d/lAgrimonolide is obtained in 7 steps with the overall yields of 20.7%. An improved approach for the synthesis ofd/lAgrimonolide from 4‐Chlororesorcinol is reported.
