Abstract

In the present investigation, the enhanced pesticidal activity of fungal-based pesticidal metabolites extracted from a well-known fungal biocontrol agent biogenic silver nanoparticles–fungal-based insecticidal metabolite (AgNp–FM) was evaluated against major lepidopteron pest Spodoptera litura(Fab.). Nanoconjugate was prepared from silver nanoparticles–pesticidal metabolites extracted from Nomuraea rileyi; adopting in vitro green science principles reveals highly stable, amorphous, monodispersive nanodimensional particles. Determination of pesticidal activity was studied by measuring pesticidal activity against major lepidopteron pest Spodoptera litura(Fab.). Nanoconjugate thus synthesised brought about notable mortality against all the larval instars. Developmental parameters were also highly affected in nanoconjugate treatment. High efficacy of the nanoconjugate thus obtained would suggest the possible utilisation of nanoconjugate as an effective, safe pesticidal agent against economically important insect pests.
