Abstract
- Electrofluidic Displays (EFD), as a promising reflective display technology, has unique advantage in flexibility because the mediums (oil&water) driven inside the pixel are completely soft maters. In this study, the reliability of the materials applied in the flexible EFD (FEFD) under bending were systematically evaluated. The mechanical neutral layer was designed to reduce the effect of stress. The UV acrylate, was chosen instead of traditional epoxy resin for sealing FEFD devices. Moreover, an open channel seal architecture was proposed to reduce the pressure building inside the cell during device bending.
