Abstract

•Microwave-assisted ethylene glycol reduction with a single batch Pt suspension.•A safe, fast and scalable synthesis of Pt/C catalysts with various Pt loadings.•61% Pt/C exhibits a current density of 1201 mA cm−2at 0.6 V with 0.1 mgPtcm−2.•The Pt nanocolloid shows an excellent stability during 3 months.
