Abstract

The issue of work inhibition is of prime concern to rehabilitation personnel. A review of the literature suggests that work and work adjustment services may be of some value in facilitating behavior change, and in generating meaningful vocational involvement for a disabled and disadvantaged population. A rationale in support of work as therapy is presented, along with an examination of some major limitations to the approach.
