Abstract

Using synchrotron-radiation core-level photoemission, we found that the formation of the YBaCuO-Pb interface is notunreactive. A reacted PbO-like intralayer is formed for substrate temperatures down to 40−50 K. The intralayer is very thin, and automatically results in the formation of an SIS structure.
