Abstract

African American deceased donor kidneys were genotyped for 2 APOL1 gene renal-risk variants and results were linked to patient and graft survival. The authors confirm that these 2 variants are associated with a shorter renal allograft survival but not patient survival. Supplemental digital content is available in the text.
