Abstract
- Aorta dilatation is the most frequent ascending aorta pathology and a risk factor for dissection. The arterial hypertension is the most common reason for dilatation of ascending aorta. One of the most feasible methods for the diagnosis of this pathology is 2D echocardiography. We hypothesized that speckle-tracking echocardiography can help to evaluate mechanical properties of the ascending aorta – strain and motion.
