Abstract

•The blaVIM-36gene was identified for the first time in Brazil.•Possibility of spread of this resistance gene in Pseudomonas aeruginosain the region.•Virulence gene profile was similar in isolates carrying blaSPMand the isolate carrying blaVIM-36.•Only two isolates harbouring blaSPMshowed virulence in a Galleria mellonellamodel.
