Abstract
- The influence of gamma-irradiation on the electrical conductance (Y) of natural rubber (NR)-butyl rubber (IIR) blend filled with different concentrations of general purpose furnace (GPF) carbon black has been studied during swelling in kerosene. Moreover, the degree of swelling and the penetration rate in kerosene for these rubber blends are also studied as a function of γ-irradiation dose. An attempt was made to calculate the carbon-carbon interspacing distance and its dependence on solvent penetration rate for unirradiated as well as irradiated samples.
