Limbic encephalitis associated with systemic sclerosis

•In SSc patients neurological involvement of inflammatory origin has been reported.•Autoimmune encephalitis can occur in SSc patients in a period of quiescent SSc.•Possibility of a “neuro-scleroderma” can have important consequences for treatment escalation.•In SSc patients with autoimmune encephalitis, the introduction of an immunotherapy is justified.•Multiple autoimmune illnesses is not rare in patients with history of autoimmune disease.
