Abstract

Densities and dynamic viscosities of the N-methylpyrrolidone/(C<INF>1</INF>−C<INF>10</INF>) alkan-1-ols mixed solvents were measured at atmospheric pressure and 293.15, 303.15, 313.15, and 323.15 K over the whole composition range. The excess and mixing properties deduced from these data were interpreted in terms of intermolecular interactions and structural effects. The Soave−Redlich−Kwong and Peng−Robinson cubic equations of state and the modified extended real associated solution (ERAS) and the Prigogine−Flory−Patterson (PFP) models were used to correlate the excess molar volumes. Several correlation viscosity models were also used in data reduction.
