Abstract

•Conjugative transfer occurred at similar frequency with Escherichia colior Salmonellaas recipient.•IncA/C was the most prevalent replicon, followed by IncFIB and IncN.•Plasmid-based AmpC β-lactamase resistance was the most prevalent type.•22 of 25 potential ESBL-producers possessed blaCTX-Mgenes.•Transfer of IncN and not IncA/C unmasked an ESBL phenotype.
