An Application of Rough Sets to the Economic Analysis

Rough set theory is a new mathematical tool to deal with vagueness and uncertainty. In this paper, the economic situation of township and village enterprises in Shanxi province is investigated with the rough set theory. To this end, the original data is discretized into qualitative data first. Then, based on the reduction uf knowledge, the outstanding economic characteristics of each city or prefecture of Shanxi are obtained. The development of township and village enterprises in Shanxi is analyzed. The suggestion for development of enterprises in Shanxi is proposed.
