A Preliminary Investigation on the Optimization Model for the Chinese Higher Education Planning

In this paper, the optimization problem of higher education planning in China is investigated. The structure and characteristics of the national higher education system in China are analyzed. The optimization model for the higher education planning is built. Based on the law for college students flow, an analog model for the higher education planning is constructed. From these models, the number of newly admitted students to, the amount of students in and the number of students graduated from each speciality and the amount of higher education investment may be obtained. According to the present state and development of higher education in China, the above-mentioned variables of each speciality are simulated and calculated, and the results of the calculation are analyzed.
