Abstract
- The literature shows little evidence of much attention given to transverse or oblique presentation of the fetus during the last trimester of pregnancy. We believe that such fetal position, especially if it tends to persist, is of definite clinical importance and should be considered as sufficient reason for carrying out soft-tissue x-ray studies of the uterus, in order to visualize the placenta and determine its location, the necessity for which determination will be demonstrated. The purpose of this paper is to show the principal causes and the significance of transverse or oblique presentation of the fetus in the last ten weeks of pregnancy.
