Abstract

⿢Requirement of highly mobile and multi-locally living workforce in the Arctic petroleum industry.⿢Negative reputation of so called long-distance commute or fly-in/fly-out workers.⿢Study on the workers⿿ perception of normality of their lifestyle and the extreme work in the Arctic.⿢Sustainable coping strategies are presented which indicate that this lifestyle and work can be undertaken long term.⿢Highly diverse working conditions in junior or in major companies.⿢Low protection of labour rights in Russia vs. high protectionist attitude by the state to natural resources and companies.
