Abstract
- An investigation of the radiative recombination of electron-hole drops in Ge in magnetic fields up to 140 kG is presented. The measured luminescence spectra are in qualitative agreement with theoretical lineshape calculations, taking into account the detailed band structure of Ge in a magnetic field. It was found that both the density and the binding energy of the condensed carriers increase considerably with magnetic field. Apparent differences between the spectra of pure and doped crystals are discussed.
