Abstract
- Dog serum-induced aggregation of pig platelets in plasma has been considered to be an in vitromodel for xenograft rejection. In this paper it is shown that this aggregation can be reduced or totally prevented by pretreatment of the dog serum with certain synthetic fibrinolytic agents or pentosane polysulfo esters or by adding the latter to pig plasma. The common denominator of these compounds is their complement suppressing activity.
