Sulla conversione interna della energia cinetica degli elettroni delle sostanze β−attive

Sono state prese in considerazione le tracce positive uscenti da un preparato di Ra(B+C): dal loro confronto con le tracce casualmente incidenti sul preparato, si è potuto concludere trattarsi di un effetto strumentale. In order to decide if the «positive tracks» observed in the Wilson chamber are produced by positive particles coming from the source or by electrons coming from the walls, two sets of photos have been taken. One set (1 175 photos) was taken with a Ra(B+C) source, contained in a glass holder placed in the middle of the chamber, and the other set (402 photos) without it. Comparing the «positive tracks» (23 compared with 7 790 electrons) to the tracks of the second set (10 tracks) which appeared as positive particles coming from the empty holder, we can conclude that no positive particles have been observed.
