Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article deals with the health disparities in the province of Ubon-Ratchathani, in Thailand. A model is constructed, comprising a series of environmental variables and health indicators. It appears that the determinants of the health disparities between the villages of Ubon belong to two levels. At the first level, there are causes relating to the physical environment of households and villages; solutions here are mainly technical. At the second level, there are more structural causes, upon which it is therefore more difficult to act, relating to social and spatial structures (involving social integration level, size of land holdings, rights to land, etc.).
