Abstract

In this paper, a 3D-FE model in process of tube bending is built under the ABAQUS/Explicit environment based on the solution of several key techniques, such as contact boundary condition, material properties definition and meshing technology, etc. The results show that both friction coefficients and bending angles have an important influence on the wall thickness of tubes. The variation trends of outside and inside wall thickness are found out by using finite element simulation. The achievements of this study may provide some advice for experiments and manufactures.
