Abstract

Following a Claisen—Schmidt condensation between piperidine hydrochloride monohydrate (I) and aryl aldehydes (II) or an aldol condensation between (I) and aryl aldehydes (VI) gives rise to formation of curcumin analogues (III) and (VII).
