Gene Order in the Bacteriophage R17 RNA : 5′–;A Protein–Coat Protein–Synthetase–3′

The sequencing of the ribosome binding sites and parts of the coat protein cistron has enabled the order of the three R17 genes to be established by direct chemical means. Translation may be influenced by the conformation of the RNA.
