Abstract

Abstract: In this article we report the results of an experiment performed in 1993 at PSI. The goal was to determine the absolute rate of nuclear muon capture by<superscript>3</superscript>He. In the experiment we used a new technique recently developed at Gatchina. As a preliminary result from this experiment we obtainedlambda<subscript>c</subscript>=(1496±3(stat)-3(syst)) s<superscript>–1</superscript>.
