Comparison of human fibroblast and leukocyte interferon in the treatment of severe laryngeal papillomatosis in children

The efficiency of human fibroblast interferon (IFN-ß) and human leukocyte interferon (IFN-a) was evaluated in two children with recurrent laryngeal papillomatosis. Both children failed to respond to fibroblast interferon, however the laryngeal papillomatosis disappeared when leukocyte interferon was applied. Possible explanations for these findings are discussed.
