Isomeric transitions between shape coexisting states in iodine isotopes withA=115, 119 and 121

Abstract

Applying delayed?- r.f. coincidences and generalized centroid-shift analysis, nanosecond isomers in some odd-A iodine isotopes are studied in-beam. The reactions<superscript>106</superscript>Cd(<superscript>12</superscript>C,p2n) and<superscript>116,118</superscript>Sn(<superscript>6</superscript>Li,3n) have been used. The following half-lives were determined:T<subscript>1/2</subscript>(565 keV)=0.50±0.10 ns andT<subscript>1/2</subscript>(837 keV) =0.90±0.20 ns in<superscript>115</superscript>I,T<subscript>1/2</subscript>(687 keV)=5.50±0.50 ns andT<subscript>1/2</subscript>(2418 keV)=4.0±0.50 ns in<superscript>119</superscript>I as well asT<subscript>1/2</subscript>(812 keV)=0.35±0.20 ns andT<subscript>1/2</subscript>(445 keV)<0.10 ns in<superscript>121</superscript>I. A systematics of the absolute probabilities for the transitions deexciting thepg<subscript>9/2</subscript> 9/2<superscript>+</superscript> andp<subscript>11/2</subscript> 11/2<subscript>1</subscript><superscript>-</superscript> band heads in<superscript>115–125</superscript>I is presented and discussed.
