Abstract
- Angular distributions of jet axes with respect to the beam axis for 3-jet events ine<superscript>+</superscript>e<superscript>-</superscript> annihilation provide a more sensitive indication of the spins of the underlying particles than the commonly used energy flow variables. Closed expressions for the angular distributions of quark and gluon jet axes are given in both single and double differential form. The angular distributions for undistinguished jets, e.g. the least energetic jet, are calculated. Vector gluons (QCD) and scalar gluons are contrasted to illustrate sensitivity to the gluon spin in each case.
