Functional polymers

2-(2,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)2H-4-methoxybenzotriazole was treated with acryloyl or methacryloyl chloride and gave 2[2-hydroxy-4-acryloxy(methacryloxy)phenyl]2H-4-methoxybenzotriazole. The two monomers were homo-polymerized and copolymerized with styrene, methyl methacrylate and n-butyl acrylate with azobisisotutyronibrile as the initiator. The monomers, homopolymers and copolymers were characterized.
