Abstract
- Optical bistability in a micrometre-sized Fabry-Perot cavity, filled with appropriate polar molecules, is analysed after two incident beams (with frequenciesgw<subscript>1</subscript> andgw<subscript>2</subscript>) produce in the system a two-photon resonance at frequencygw<subscript>1</subscript> +gw<subscript>2</subscript>. One-photon resonances at the frequenciesgw<subscript>1</subscript> andgw<subscript>2</subscript> are discarded. It was not necessary to assume a particular relationship betweengw<subscript>1</subscript> andgw<subscript>2</subscript>, and the single-beam two-photon optical bistability whengw<subscript>1</subscript> andgw<subscript>2</subscript> are of the same order or equal is emphasized.
